ACADEMICS
Knowledge is the key to success. We believe that knowledge empowers and open doors to a greater future. As a part of our program, each youth is required to demonstrate academic progress in all courses. Each youth is required to submit quarterly progress reports from school. These are used to determine academic needs and provide guided instruction based on those needs.
At each session the youths are introduced to a basic concept in each of the core subject areas; Math, Reading, Science, and Social Studies. The mentors work with each youth providing guidance and instruction when necessary.

PARENTAL SUPPORT
Strong Parental Support--Strong families build strong communities. We believe that we are an extension of the family of each of the youth in the program. We work with the parents/guardians to ensure that the values being taught at home are reinforced and the youths understand and appreciate the sacrifices that are being made for each of them to ensure their success.

LIFE SKILLS
Life Skills— Many of our youths are lacking the basic skill set necessary for survival. Not just mechanical or physical tools, but the ability to make good decisions and grow into adults who are strong independent and confident. As a part of the program we expose the youths opportunities to learn these valuable life skills through variety of learning opportunities.
There has also been a deterioration of good manners and ethics. As a part of the program, we instruct the youth in the basics of good manners and ethical behavior, and encourage the practice of them everyday.

COMMUNITY
Community Involvement--The OMOL program participates in community wide initiatives in Baltimore City and surrounding counties.
Community involvement gives the youth an opportunity to earn service learning hours while giving back to the local community. It also generates a sense of pride in each youth as they see the direct results of their contribution to their own community.
